Watch: Edison skips town in video premiere for “Open Road”

Times are tight these days. Driving for Uber is barely worth it, all those bitcoins you bought are getting more useless by the day and rent in Denver keeps skyrocketing like so many Mentos dropped into so much Diet Pepsi.

Denver trio Edison knows your pain. In its brand new video for “Open Road,” the band has been evicted for not playing the saxophone well enough, a tough but inevitable reality for many of us.

What’s a young, attractive folk band to do? Hit the road, of course. With a van and some Lumineers-esque handclaps in tow, Edison checks off all the typical road trip hallmarks. Washing your car at a gas station? Check. Playing an acoustic folk show in what appears to be a trendy barn? Check. Yoga poses on roadside hay bales? Come on.

The song is off of Edison’s debut album, “Familiar Spirit,” which comes out on Friday via Rhyme and Reason Records. You can pre-order it here.

If you just can’t wait that long to hear the band’s new stuff, you can catch them at the Larimer Lounge tonight, where they’ll be opening for Jared & the Mill. Tickets are $15 via larimerlounge.com
